Contrary to earlier reports speculating Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' trailer not being liked by the audiences, the team has released an official statement stating that the 'Happy New Year' trailer has reached out to 7 crore people.

The trailer, which was the first ever to be released on as many as seven different platforms, has definitely set a new record for itself. While looking at the YouTube channel, it might seem that the 'Happy New Year' is not much viewed, but what we forgot totally was that the trailer was not just available on YouTube but on all other different platforms. It was first uploaded on the Facebook page and was tweeted  and SMS-ed manually to individuals all across the globe using Twitter and Value Added Services (VAS).

This was also the first time that a Hindi film trailer was launched on WhatsApp. The trailer was also unveiled on DTH platforms along with individual mails sent to the public who signed up for the same.

And while we gaged the response only from the YouTube views, we also forgot that the trailer was simultaneously launched through three different YouTube handles- Red Chillies Entertainment, T-Series and YRF. So the viewership too got divided. But in total, the film has just got about 4.5 million views on YouTube itself.

All in all, the Red Chillies team has rubbished all rumours tweeting about the same. The trailer which has supposedly reached out to 7 crore people all over the world has received over 1 crore views. And with that, Shah Rukh and his team 'Happy New Year' would have huge smile on their faces.

Check out what Red Chillies Entertainment tweeted about the film:
