It was a very close call between Fan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan but in the end King Khan’s film raced ahead to win the survey
This year a lot of big budget and interesting projects are lined-up for release. While Maneesh Sharma’s Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan isn’t a typical Bollywood masala flick, Kabir Khan on the other hand has teamed up with his Ek Tha Tiger hero Salman Khan for his next directorial venture Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Apart from these two films, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra is also being touted as one of biggest releases of this year. Then Zoya Akhtar’s mutli-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do which is scheduled to release in June has also been in the news ever since it was announced courtesy Anushka Sharma and Ranveer’s jodi. Then there is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo as for which Dabangg Khan has joined hands his favourite director Sooraj Barjatya that too after 15 long years. And lastly we have Shoojit Sircar’s Piku in which Dippy will be seen sharing screen space for the first time with two acting stalwarts – Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.
While I am excited about all the films, we recently conducted a poll on our website asking BL readers and movie buffs to vote and tell us which of the above film is the most awaited one this year. Well, the verdict is in and SRK’s Fan has won the survey by bagging 28 percent of the votes. Salman’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan lost the title by just 1 percent as it received 27 percent of the votes. As for SLB’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, well, the film got 17 percent of the votes and came in third. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo came fourth with 13 percent of the votes whereas Dil Dhadakne Do bagged 8 percent of the votes. Piku came in last with 7 percent votes.
Though all these films have something interesting in store for us, for now, it Shah Rukh’s Fan which seems to created a lot of curiosity amongst the masses! Considering Gauri Khan’s hubby will be seen in a completely different avatar, even we are eagerly looking forward to this one!
