Tom Cruise set to return as Ethan Hunt for the sixth instalment of the franchise.

Mission Impossible 6 director Christopher McQuarrie officially announced the beginning of production for the Tom Cruise starrer.
McQuarrie tweeted an image of the clapper board before the first take for the spy thriller centered around Ethan Hunt.

Cinematographer Rob Hardy shared another image of the board on his Instagram account.
Tom Cruise will be joined by Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson who will reprise the character of Ilsa Faust from Rogue Nation. Superman star Henry Cavill, The Crown alumni Venessa Kirby, and Sherlock villain Sian Brooke are the new additions to the cast.
McQuarrie wants to explore who Ethan Hunt is in the latest instalment. "I want an emotional journey for this character, and Tom really embraced it," the director is quoted as saying by Entertainment Weekly.
Mission Impossible: 6 is scheduled the release on July 27, 2018.
