The synopsis for the third Marvel movie for Thor, Thor: Ragnarok was released at the beginning of the year. This time around, Marvel has unveiled the concept art the gladiatorial contest between the Norse god and Hulk.

Both Thor and Hulk aka Bruce Banner were missing from the action when the MCU superheroes fought each other in Captain America: Civil War. In Thor: Ragnarok the Norse god is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer. He will have to fight his ally on Earth in a deadly gladiatorial battle on planet Sakaar.

In the concept art, we can see that Hulk is decked in his Planet Hulk-like avatar with a feathered helmet, spiked armour, a massive hammer in one hand and an equally gigantic yet sharp axe in the other.

If Thor manages to survive that, then he has to face his most ruthless enemy so far to stop the Ragnarok - the destruction of civilisation on Asgard and the planet itself. Played by two-time Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett, Hela is the Asgardian goddess of death, ruler of Hel and Niffleheim.

The second concept art reveals that Thor has teamed up with his brother Loki and the maze of fire escapes behind the black and green avatar of Hela shows that New York will be once again the playground of the battle between superheroes and supervillains. This also hints at Doctor Strange's involvement since he already has Loki on his watchlist.

Directed by Taika Waititi of The Hunt For Wilder People, the new Thor movie will see Chris Hemsworth return as the Norse God. Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Idris Elba will reprise their roles of Odin, Loki, and Heimdall respectively.

The cast is joined by Mark Ruffalo playing Hulk. Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Peter Dinklage, and Karl Urban are the new additions to Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie is set to release on November 11, 2017
