Scarlett Johansson was reportedly offered a whopping $10M to star as the lead in the live action version of popular magna comic, 'Ghost in the Shell'. Johansson's name was put into consideration following her starring turn in the Luc Besson surprise hit, Lucy and her repeat role as Natasha Romanov/Black Widow in Avengers: Age of Ultron due in 2015. Initially, Margot Robbie was to star in the lead role of Motoko Kusanagi, but instead the actress actively pursued a role in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Ghost in the Shell will be produced by DreamWorks and will be based on the 1995 film and Magna comic. The premise of the story is set in the mid-21st century in the fictional Japanese city of Niihama. It follows the members of Public Security Section 9, a special-operations task-force made up of former military officers and police detectives. Corrupt officials, companies and cyber-criminals in each scenario require the diverse skills of Section 9's staff to prevent a series of incidents from escalating. The actress has not formally signed on the dotted line as of yet.
