'Pray' gives out the feelings that question faith yet tries to find solace.
Singer Sam Smith released the second song, titled 'Pray,' from his album Thrill of It All on Friday morning (IST).
Along with the new music, the Briton also announced that the tickets for his upcoming 2018 summer tour will be available starting October 12. Fans will have to register on Sam Smith's website to get the details about price and tour dates.
Thrill of It All will have 10 songs and their titles are as follows -
1. Too Good at Goodbyes
2. Say It First
3. On Last Song
4. Midnight Train
5. Burning
6. Him
7. Baby, You Make Me Crazy
8. No Peace feat. Yebba
9. Palace
10. Pray
Smith released the first single, 'Too Good at Goodbyes' from the album almost four weeks ago, in which his voice is supported by beautiful choir chorus. The same effect has been carried forward in 'Pray.'
The song is nothing like Smith has presented before. The bridge is stronger which is trademark Sam, but the religious tone seeking some solace is a new addition. Smith wrote the song in collaboration with Migel Jose Velasquez, Larrance Dopson, Timbaland, and Jimmy Napes. Latter two also serve as producers of the track.
The first stanza goes,
I'm young and I'm foolish, I've made bad decisions
I block out the news, turn my back on religion
Don't have no degree, I'm somewhat naive
I've made it this far on my own
But lately, that shit ain't been getting me higher
I lift up my head and the world is on fire
There's dread in my heart and fear in my bones
And I just don't know what to say

Smith didn't talk much about the song like he did the first time. But maybe it was a right thing to do to let the listeners decide if they have faith and like everyone if they pray in the end.
The album is available for pre-order and it will release on November 3.
