BATTLE OF THE SEXES
Release date: May 1, 2015
Films clashing: Akshay Kumar's 'Gabbar Is Back' and Sunny Leone's 'Mastizaade'
What's it about? Akshay's film is a socially relevant drama on corruption at all levels. Leone's film is a sex comedy featuring Vir Das and Tusshar Kapoor. Diametrically opposite, the two films will have their own audiences. Yet releasing a film the same week as Akshay is already a big blow dealt. Will Sunny have the final laugh yet?
SEQUELS KI TAKKAR
Release date: May 29, 2015
Films clashing: John Abraham's 'Welcome Back' and Kangana Ranaut's 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'
What's it about? One is a mad cap comic caper, the other a fun slice-of-life film. Both sequels promise to be entertainers. Kangana is still riding high on QUeen's success and TMWR will have her in a double role, which means double the fun! John returns to the screen post Madras Café. And given that both these franchises have immense brand recall, the right-after-IPL clash might take the box office by a storm.
FIGHT OF THE DESI BOYZ!

Films clashing: Akshay Kumar's 'Singh is Bling' and John Abraham's 'Rocky Handsome'
What's it about? With JA replacing AK in two franchise sequels (Welcome Back and Hera Pheri 3), reports of bad blood between the two have been doing the rounds. This clash has only added fuel to the fire. Akshay's Singh is Bling which was delayed indefinitely for unknown reasons, is definitely coming on October 2, an official statement from Prabhu Dheva reads. Even Akshay jumped on to Twitter to announce the same. John who has not had a release post Madras Café, will have two releases this year- Rocky Handsome that also releases on October 2 along with SIB. Both films are riding high on commercial value and are refusing to budge from the spot, will it yet again be a 'Haider-Bang Bang' clash?
PREM vs HAATH?
Release date: Diwali 2015
Films clashing: Salman Khan's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and Sunny Deol 'Ghayal Once Again'
What's it about? It's a Salman film. With Sooraj Barjatya. The last time that happened was in 1999. And it's Salman's first Diwali release in ages. Of course nobody in their right mind would take on this Khan in November. Well, one man with a dhai-kilo ka haath will definitely try. The Sunny Deol film releases two days after PRDP and he's in no mood to change his release date. His film still has brand recall after all these years, but it's sort of harakiri to go up against this Khan during festival time.
GHAR KI BAAT
Release date: June 3, 2016
Films clashing: Abhishek Bachchan's Housefull 3 and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
What's it about? Like charity, it seems competition too begins at home for the Bachchans. Aishwarya who is busy making her big comeback to films will be seen going head-to-head with hubby Abhishek next year. Housefull 3, staying true to its franchise will be yet another mad cap comic caper whereas ADHM has an unconventional story angle. While it is expected that one of the films might shift their dates, as of now the H3-ADHM clash is more a family affair.
'THE' CLASH
Release date: Eid 2016
Films clashing: Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Salman Khan's Sultan
What's it about? According to latest reports, both Khans are eyeing an Eid release. Will the clash happen? If it does, the entire movie-watching nation will be divided over which film to catch. Both stars have a huge fan following the world over and if this happens, it will be the biggest clash ever. Raees will have SRK essay a Gujarati bootlegger and the Muslim ghetto back in the 1980s will form the backdrop to the Rahul Dholakia film, whereas Salman will be seen playing a boxer in Sultan.
PAHELWAN V/S SUPERMAN
Release date: Christmas 2016
Films clashing: Aamir Khan's Dangal and Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's next with Ayan Mukherji
What's it about? Aamir has no releases in 2015. Ranbir has as many as three this year. Next year, it's a Christmas clash for both. In Dangal, Aamir is a greying wrestler while Ranbir is playing superhero in Ayan Mukherji's ambitious superhero project, which also features Alia. The jodi is paired together for the first time. Most of RK's films are getting rescheduled. Hope that isn't the case with this film.
