A few years ago, Salman Khan wanted to make a film on wrestler Gama Pehalwan, but it didn't happen because John Abraham was also planning a film based on the sportsman. However, neither materialised and now Mid-Day reports that Salman has decided to bring the pehlawan to the small-screen.

A source is quoted saying that it will mark Salman's first production for the small-screen. Sohail Khan will be playing the pehalwan in the story set in Amritsar, Gama's hometown during the Partition.

Gama later moved to Pakistan and died in 1960 at the age of 82.  He was considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

The pilot episode has been shot and sent to the channel.
