Salman Khan scoffs at legal notice to 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' title

"It (legal notice) doesn't bother me. I don't think any religious group could think like this, as religion teaches to follow and be respectful towards other religion," he said at the launch of a song from his upcoming film.

Superstar Salman Khan has dismissed a legal notice slapped on him and the makers of his upcoming film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" saying that it does not bother him.

"It (legal notice) doesn't bother me. I don't think any religious group could think like this, as religion teaches to follow and be respectful towards other religion. Every religion respects other person's religion," Salman said on Friday night at a song launch event of his film.

"I don't think any religious group can protest over the title. Don't malign them. Islam means peace. Tell me one group that is against peace and harmony," he said.

A local from UP had recently sent a legal notice to Salman and director Kabir Khan raising objections on the title and some scenes in the film stating that Bajrangi stands for a Hindu God and it can't be linked with Bhaijaan, and that it is hurting Hindu sentiments.

Launching a Eid party number "Aaj Ki Party Meri Taraf Se" for his fans last night, Salman said the song would not be a part of movie but they would consider adding it later depending on the response to the film.

"Lot of them told me to use this as a promotional song. But I told them that this film doesn't need another song for promotion. When Pritam made me listen to the song, I got a bit greedy to incorporate this song," Salman said.

"But this song is not there in the film. Both Kabir and my father don't want this song in the film. There are two versions of this song," the 49-year-old actor said.

This song sung by Mika, composed by Pritam and written by Shabbir Ahmed is choreographed by Remo D'Souza. It was earlier supposed to be attached to the end credits of the movie.

Directed by Kabir Khan, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" will hit the screens a day prior to Eid on July 17.
