Salman Khan's 'Kick' crosses the 150 crore mark at the box office, beats his own 'Ek Tha Tiger' record

Salman Khan has always been the record maker and the record breaker in Bollywood. After an average Jai Ho, while most people were writing him off, Salman Khan has struck gold with Kick and how.

Hammering his way to success, Salman has beaten his own record, with Kick becoming the fastest Salman Khan film to touch the 150 crore mark. Kick was also the fastest Salman movie to reach the 100 crore mark. While Kick crossed the 100 crore mark in 4 days, Ek Tha Tiger had taken 5 days to cover the same amount.

The film, which has been rather well received by most critics and audiences worldwide, has raked in huge moolah, given Salman's star power and is racing towards the coveted 200 crore mark. Dhoom:3 still has the record collections of about Rs 280 crore with the first week collections coming in around Rs 185.50 crore for the Aamir Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer.

Salman's Kick had already netted Rs 148 crore till Wednesday and the official collection for Thursday is yet to come. But nevertheless, the film has definitely crossed the 150 crore mark by now.

Now, what needs to be seen is whether the seventh day collection could catapult Kick into the top three list on the basis of first week collections. After Dhoom: 3, you have Krrish 3 which brought in Rs 164 crores at the box office after the first week but was later reported that the box office numbers were allegedly forged by the company. Following Krrish 3, you have Shah Rukh Khan's Chennai Express which had collected a whooping Rs 156.60 crores at the end of its week long run at the box office.

Going by the trend, Kick seems to have toppled SRK's Chennai Express and is definitely going to take over its position in the list. And with that, Salman seems to have gotten the 'Kick' he always wanted. 

Will Kick also cross the 200 crore mark and beat his own Ek Tha Tiger collections? We'll just have to wait and see.
