Now it can be told. Salman Khan and Anees Bazmee have buried the hatchet, making peace at the actor’s 50th birthday party last year. The two had a fallout in 2001 and things weren’t the same since.

Says our source, “Salman had been upset with Anees since Ready, when the director and the actor fell out over shooting, with Bazmee when he left the location in Bangkok and returned to Mumbai. While actor and director met socially after that, Khan kept stalling Bazmee’s dates for No Entry Mein Entry.”

Adds the source, “The situation worsened last year when Salman’s home production Hero clashed with Anees’s Welcome Back. This, despite Salman announcing the date on Twitter with the words, ‘Back Off’. Though Anees tried to explain the situation by saying that they had no idea about Salman’s plans, fact is the star was miffed with him. But now things have been sorted.”

However, Bazmee says, “We never fought enough to have a fallout. Salman has liked me from day one and our tuning has always been great. This time at his 50th birthday party, we sat together till 6 am just chatting. I was leaving after wishing him when he asked me to wait. We discussed many things. And of course, I would love to work with him again and again. I told him about some great scripts that I would love to narrate to him. Salman tells me that I should ask for Rs15 crore while making a film — Rs13 for writing the script and Rs2 crore for directing it.”
