Seems like Salman had nothing to do with the removal of Arijit's song in his upcoming flick Sultan

The entire fiasco began when the 'Tum Hi Ho' singer posted a long apology note on his facebook page requesting the Kick star not to get his (Arijit's) song deleted from his (Salman's) most awaited movie Sultan. Arijit later on erased the post.

Now, Actor Nikhil Dwivedi has come out in defence of Salman, He took to his Twitter account and tweeted-

It seems like all that Salman actually did was to refuse to meet Arijit, which is totally the Dabangg Khan's call.

According to a report on Mid Day, a source from the film has said, "Salman isn't petty. Why would he ask for a song to be removed from the film when he had shot with the version recorded by Arijit? Music directors usually record a song with various artists and the best one makes it to the album. So, in case of Sultan, it was purely producer Aditya Chopra's and Vishal-Shekhar's call."

Rumour has it that the makers of Sultan have decided to do away with Arijit's version of a song and go ahead with the one sung by Shadab Faridi. Sources close to the actor reveal that, "From the time he got to know that he would sing for Salman, he has been pestering him so that he could settle an old matter. All Salman did was turn down his request. He didn't get any of his songs removed. Arijit is clearly mistaken," reports Mid Day.
