Saif Ali Khan on paternity leave

Imran Khan did it. Then Shahid Kapoor. And now, Saif Ali Khan. Take paternity leave to care for their expectant wives and help with the birth of their babies any way they can, that is.

Work on hold

Shahid put Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon on hold, while Saif will take time off from Chef (the Hindi remake of the Jon Favreau film of the same name), directed by Raja Krishna Menon, to be with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their first-born. Menon confirms, “Yes, Saif takes a month off after a small schedule of my film in early December.”

Baby time

Friends of Saif and Kareena say the couple intends to devote all their time to their baby, once it’s born in December. “Saif will ease back into work with the next schedule of Chef in January. Kareena will spend as much time with the baby as she wants to before starting her next film which is Veeray Di Wedding with Sonam Kapoor.”
