Blue-blooded to the core Saif Ali Khan's finer tastes are evident, even during shooting. On outdoors, he doesn't just stay at a secluded villa completely cut off from the rest of the cast and crew, but it is a place preferred by Hollywood celebs, too.
Case in point, when the nawab stayed with his begum Kareena Kapoor Khan at the exclusive Le Touessrok Hotel in Mauritius while shooting for Humshakals while the rest of the crew shacked up at the less tony Hotel InterContinental in Mauritius.
A source says, "The Le Touessrok is quite expensive and has, in the past, hosted Hollywood celebs and international royalty. Tucked away in a remote corner of Mauritius, it has private villas, has the Givenchy Spa, a private golf course and a short boat-ride away, a private island belonging to the hotel which is only for hotel guests. The production team didn't have a package deal with the distant Le Touessrok and was hesitant but Saif insisted on the privacy."
A source from the unit confirms the arrangement but adds, "We did want him to stay closer to the shoot but he insisted on staying at this exclusive hotel. It wasn't cost-effective but we went ahead and booked him anyway. He is a cool guy and barring accommodation, has no other demands. He loves to live like a king and does that with his own money so there's nothing wrong with that.
Apparently, Saif's a great host too. "When he celebrated his anniversary he threw a small dinner for Sajid Khan, Vashu Bhagnani, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor and paid for the entire party himself. He had told the production person right from the beginning to put it into his account."
