After 'Saala Khadoos', Mumtaz Sorcar eyes more films in Bollywood

The actress delivered a commendable performance in the recently released Saala Khadoos / Irudhi Suttru directed by Sudha Kongara. Mumtaz Sorcar, the daughter of famous magician PC Sorcar Junior and grand-daughter of the late Padmasree PC Sorcar senior, says that she is already an established actress in Bengali cinema and now wants to make in-roads into Bollywood and Kollywood. 

Irudhi Suttru has turned out to be a hit in Tamil, though the Hindi movie sank. In a statement, she thanked the Tamil audience for their love and support. "I tried my best to fulfill Lux's character (Ritika Singh's sister in the film) and it feels great to be appreciated for my hard work. As a newcomer in Tamil cinema, the response that I have received from the press and audience is really overwhelming and inspiring," stated Mumtaz.

"It has an earnest effort and dream to be accepted and supported by the Tamil industry and media, just as my father has been. Debuting as an actress in the cultural hub of India is like a dream come true. I am grateful to Shashikanth, Sudha Kongara and R Madhavan for giving me this opportunity," the actress added.

Her next release in Bengali is Conditions Apply directed by Amitava Bhattacharya and produced by Vinayak Pictures Production.
