With two of his big-budget films in shooting stage, a sum of Rs 200-250 crore is riding on Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who was on Wednesday sentenced to five years imprisonment by a Mumbai sessions court.

The shooting of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", his second outing with "Ek Tha Tiger" director Kabir Khan, was still underway in Kashmir, when the 49-year-old actor returned to Mumbai for the hearing in the 2002 hit-and-run case where he was convicted of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. He later got interim bail till Friday.

An official from Eros International, the distributor of the action film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, said about 10-15 days shoot is still pending.

"Salman's well-being is more important to us right now. Logistics of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' will be discussed later with his team. Our prayers are with his family," said Krishika Lulla of Eros International. It is not immediately clear whether the film's release this Eid will be affected by this development.

"Approximately Rs 200-250 crore is riding on Salman for two of his films. He has two big holiday releases - 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'," said trade analyst Vikas Mohan.

A senior official from Rajshri Productions, which is producing his second film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", said, "Almost 60% of the shoot is over, only 30-40% is pending. The shoot will happen in Mumbai. We hope for the best."

The Sonam Kapoor-starrer romantic family drama reunites the actor with director Sooraj Barjatya, who was behind two of his most successful films- "Maine Pyaar Kiya" and "Hum Aapke Hain Koun". Barjatya's movie was expected to hit screens this Diwali.

According to Amod Mehra, a Bollywood analyst, Salman had committed to do four others films -- "Dabangg 3", "Entry Mein No Entry", "Sultan" and "Shuddhi". Besides his film commitments, Salman fronts major endorsement campaigns and is the host of a popular reality TV show.
