Rs 11 Crore! That's how much Kangana Ranaut asked to star in Rajeev Menon's next

Kangana Ranaut has often said that it’s the creative urges that drive her to work hard. However, that isn’t always the case. Every now and then, money offered also makes all the difference. Rajeev Menon, who has directed movies like Sapnay and Kandukondain Kandukondain and was the cinematographer on movies like Bombay and Guru, was to direct a movie that would feature her. Says a source, “A big studio was to produce the film andeverything was almost finalised. Kangana, she said she liked the script, but when they went to sign her, she quoted Rs 11 crore as her fees.”

The makers were obviously taken aback. The source adds, “Kangana’s record at the box-office has been sketchy. For every Queen, there’s a Katti Batti, for every Tanu Weds Manu there is a Rangoon. And let’s not forget Revolver Rani, which tanked miserably. So, when a star cannot even guarantee a certain return, how can he/she ask for that kind of remuneration?”
