'Roy' box office collections: India - Pakistan World Cup match affect the film

Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal's Roy also starring Ranbir Kapoor has managed to garner a decent response at the box office in its opening weekend. After a good Friday and a better Saturday, the collections of Roy dropped on Sunday, due to the India-Pakistan World Cup match.

The entire nation was bitten by the cricket fever with the biggest clash at the World Cup on Sunday- the match between India and Pakistan. As a result of which, Roy suffered a huge setback as the match gave a blow to its collections. The film which collected in the range of Rs 10-11 crore in the first two days added another Rs 7.12 crore on Sunday.

With that the total collections for the film stands at Rs 28.68 crore at the box office, which is quite a decent number. All that needs to be seen now is how the film fares during the weekdays. As of now, it has recorded the second highest opening weekend of the year, just a few crores below Akshay Kumar's Baby.
