RJ Balaji's debut lead hero vehicle 'LKG' has been confirmed to hit the screens on February 22nd. Balaji announced the release date of the film along with Priya Anand, who plays the female lead, from Twitter India's #BlueRoom today.

With this interesting announcement, 'LKG' has become the first South Indian film to be promoted through a live Q&A session in Twitter India's Blue Room. Madhavan and Anirudh Ravichander are the only two South Indian celebrities who had entered the Blue Room to promote web-series 'Breathe' and independent single 'Bewajah'.

The film is directed by Prabhu, a long time associate of actor, director, and choreographer Prabhu Deva. Produced by Vels Film International, LKG will now release alongside 'Udhayanidhi Stalin' and Tamannaah Bhatia's 'Kanne Kalaimaane' directed by national award-winning filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy.

RJ Balaji plays the titular role of Lalgudi Karuppaiya Gandhi in the film, which also marks the onscreen debut of popular senior politician Nanjil Sampath. JK Rithesh plays the villain in the movie, which has Priya Anand playing the role of a poll campaign management officer.

Sakthi Film Factory, who presented 2018's blockbusters such as 'Kadaikutty Singam' and 'Geetha Govindam', has acquired the film's Tamil Nadu theatrical rights. Tipped to be an entertaining political comedy, the film has already grabbed the attention of netizens with its rip-roaring trailer which has clocked 4.3 million views.
