Barely had the buzz of Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher’s secret visit to India died down, when Latin pop sensation Ricky Martin began tweeting pictures of him in India and a couple of Indian chants. But out of the two pictures, the one showing him posing in front of the Bodh Gaya Buddha statue has been retained, while the other showing him with his backpack, posing on a railway platform has vanished.

The Livin La Vida Loca singer recently posted an India related tweet that began with ‘Om mani padme hum’ on September 20, followed up by a picture of him at Bodh Gaya on September 27 and another picture at an Indian railway station. Both of which could be dismissed to his past trips to India. He again tweeted on October 6, ‘Om sweet Om.’ So, is Ricky simply getting nostalgic?

Or did he manage to make a quick visit to India, considering the picture with him simply vanished from the website along with the query of an Indian fan asking if the singer was here.

The Puerto Rican singer has never hidden his fondness for India, and is known to be one of the first international celebrities to explore the country. Any project — humanitarian or performing at an Indian industrialist’s son’s wedding — associated with the country was seen as an opportunity to be in his “favourite” country.

He also reportedly admitted in his book Me that his trips to India put him on the course of humanitarian issues and fighting for them, helped him in finding 'silence' and was also apparently instrumental in coming to terms about his sexuality. Ricky is currently garnering rave reviews as Che in the Broadway revival of Evita, and is slated to do a telly series with United Televison. Given his penchant for travelling to India and Nepal, one won't be surprised to see these places in his series a la Oprah.
