Revealed: When Twinkle Khanna broke Karan Johar's heart

Karan Johar was elated to have his "first crush" Twinkle Khanna on his chat show recently, where he admitted that she broke his heart. It happened when KJo offered a role to Twinkle in his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which was turned down by her. The role later went to Rani Mukerjee.

Karan recounted the incident saying, "I narrated the script to her and she said I'll take three days. After three days she calls me up and says, who is going to look at me when there is SRK and Kajol? I don't want to do it."

"It broke my heart as I really wanted her in the film," added the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director. Not many are aware of the fact that Rani's character 'Tina' in KKHH was actually written for Twinkle (her nickname being 'Tina').

The Mela actress was at her candid best on Koffee With Karan as she did not back down to take a dig on herself when she said, "I just had one hit in my career and that was the movie that I said no to. It was Karan's KKHH."

Mrs. Funnybones even joked that she made Rani Mukerji's career (by not starring in KKHH).
