Now here’s something that the Baby makers had carefully kept under the wraps. With an element of intrigue and curiosity about Akshay Kumar’s Baby building up, director Neeraj Pandey is tight-lipped about his pet project. But a source close to the director has already given us the inside news. “There won’t be just one mission in Baby. There will be two missions in the film”, the source continued. “While the film will start with Akshay and his team embarking on a secret mission in Nepal, it will move on to another mission in Abu Dhabi”.

But why is it called Baby? Akshay answers, “There was a time when the high commander in Delhi had selected built a team of twenty -twenty five people who were highly skilled and trained to kill terrorism. This was hidden from everyone including the media. These are highly confidential missions and the code name for this group was Baby. The film too is named Baby for the same reason. It was started newly hence Baby suits the film too”.

The khabroo also informed us that the film will be segmented into two parts altogether. “Akshay’s character is of the man leading his troop to fight terrorism. But what the team has not yet revealed is that even the film is segregated into sections. The Nepal mission will form the crux of the first half and the all-important Abu Dhabi mission will start off right after intermission.” And Akki won’t be taking on the goons alone. “Taapsee Pannu plays a secret agent who will help Akshay in the Nepal mission while Rana Daggubati and Anupam Kher will bring down the climax to the film in the Abu Dhabi mission”, confirmed the source.

Despite having two major missions and some minor ones in between, the director has made sure the ‘continuity of the film is not broken’, claimed our source. “The film might shift locations and missions might change but Neeraj has made sure it looks all believable and has interlinked them to each other.” Not just that, Neeraj has taken the intricate details of the action sequences into account. “Baby is an out and out action film where not only Akshay but everyone in the cast including Taapsee will be seen doing some major stunt sequences all by themselves. The actress even underwent special training sessions to perfect her role”, added the source.

On asking Akshay about the same, he confirmed the same. “Yes, Baby will have all of us performing some gruelling action sequences all by ourselves. And mark my words, none of it will come across as unbelievable. It’s not a commercial masala film where you see one person taking on 20 people. We have shot the film aesthetically and here at a time, you will see one person fighting only one person. It’s a realistic film so although there are high octane stunts and action, we have made sure it does not look caricaturish”, Akshay continued, “We have also used some advanced technology including the Octocopter drone for which the scenes have turned out brilliant. The drone reaches a certain height and is remote-controlled so you don’t need someone to chase you with a camera during a chase sequence and you perfectly get the eagle’s point of view. Technology does have its perks”, our Khiladi signed off.
