Revealed: Not DDLJ! Karan Johar made his acting debut in this TV serial

Many of us believed that ace director Karan Johar made his acting debut in Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, where he plays Shah Rukh's friend. We're glad to burst that bubble and tell you that we all have been wronged all this while. 

Infact, Karan made his acting debut way before DDLJ. Did you know that he had acted in a TV serial when he was about 14-15 years in which he was seen crying as a wimpy school kid. This revelation came on Zee TV's latest chat show Yaaron Ki Baraat hosted by Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh.

The guests on Yaaron Ki Baraat  Episode 2, aired on October 9, were Farah Khan and Karan Johar.The duo had a blast and their friendship was put to test by the hosts. During the course of their conversation, Sajid asked when did Karan make his acting debut? As per common knowledge, Karan and everyone said it was in DDLJ.

Little did Karan know that his long preserved secret will be out on the show. It was then that Sajid revealed that Karan didn't make his acting debut in DDLJ but in a Television serial directed by Anand Mahendru. This was followed by a short clip from the serial being played on the show, where Karan could be seen crying as a wimpy little kid. Needless to say, this left Karan embarrassed and the audience in splits of laughter.

Karan then revealed that the show was titled Indradhanush and by the time it premiered on TV, he had already reached college and was ragged a lot owing to his stint in the show.
