Some films depend only on a heavyweight hero to pull it through while some depend on the good content to make its way. 'Mardaani' falls into the latter and rightly so. With a good word of mouth and some great public reactions to the film, 'Mardaani' has been rock steady at the box office.

Although it did not have an earth shattering opening, more because it was not even expected to, but the good hold that 'Mardaani' showed is indicative of the power of content.

'Mardaani' had netted around Rs 23 crore in its first week and managed to recover its investment quite earlier than expected. The film did not see too much of a drop even on its eighth day. the film collected in the range of Rs 1.25-1.50 crore taking its total to around Rs 24.50 crore. The film did not face any threat from the Emraan Hashmi starrer 'Raja Natwarlal' or even the magnanimous Ajay Devgn starrer 'Singham Returns'.

For a small film like 'Mardaani', the number isn't bad and given that it has reached out to so many people, hopefully we can see a stark change in the society now.
