Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra are proud parents of baby girl 'Adira'

Rani Mukerji, Aditya Chopra welcome baby girl Adira to their family!

Rani was expecting her first child in January 2016, but Adira made an early debut on Wednesday morning. Rani Mukerji was admitted on Tuesday night to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Bollywood veteran Rishi Kapoor broke the news on Twitter. He tweeted, "Rani and Aditya Chopra become proud parents to a baby girl named Adira. Congratulations!” Second confirmation came from Aditya Chopra's brother and actor Uday Chopra who is now a proud uncle to baby Adira!

Filmmaker Karan Johar too tweeted the good news,

Am an uncle to a beautiful baby girl today!!!!! @udaychopra !!! Rani and Adi had a baby girl!!

According to India.com, security at the hospital has been beefed up for the celebs expected to visit the new mother and her newborn.

Rumours had it that Rani would give birth to her first child in a foreign country. The same rumour mill also said that she planned to take a long maternity leave to a destination unknown.

Rani, 36, and Aditya, 42, secretly tied the knot in April last year in Italy. It is the first marriage for Rani while Aditya, who is known to be a very private person, was previously married to Payal Khanna but they got divorced in 2009

Papa Aditya has already announced his new project Befikre, starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor, as a first birthday gift to Adira and her mum Rani Mukerji.
