The crackling chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Shruti Haasan in an advertisement for a light bulb, has caught the film industry's attention.

In fact, directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ayan Mukerji are seriously contemplating signing the two together. And though SLB has worked closely with both Ranbir and Shruti (with the former in Saawariya and the latter in Gabbar), it looks like Ayan would be the first director to cash in on the untried pair's box-office pull because of his proximity to Ranbir.

Ranbir and Shruti have a lot in common. They both belong to illustrious film families where both their parents are actors.

Says a source, "Ranbir and Shruti would often meet as little kids on the sets of Ramesh Sippy's Sagar which starred Ranbir's dad Rishi Kapoor and Shruti's dad Kamal Haasan. Rishi and Kamal became inseparable buddies during Sagar. And their friendship has stayed strong over the years."

Given the family history, it is only natural that Shruti and Ranbir should get along famously. So they did, during the shooting of the ad when according to an eyewitness, "Shruti who is known to be reserved, was seen cracking up at Ranbir's jokes. They share a lot of common interests in music and cinema. And yes, they both underwent surgeries for a deviated septum in their respective noses."

So do we see Shruti and Ranbir in Ayan Mukerji next?

Who 'nose'! Let's wait and watch...
