Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone had created magic on screen with their last Bollywood outing together. While Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani had brought in over Rs 190 crore at the box office, all eyes were on Imtiaz Ali's next- Tamasha starring the same couple. But now we hear that the film has been postponed again!

With an initial release date of Christmas 2015, Tamasha was all set to hit theatres right at the end of this year. Along with Tamasha, Ranveer Singh-Deepika-Priyanka Chopra starrer Bajirao Mastani is also scheduled to release on the same day. But the Tamasha team has postponed the release date and now it will release only in 2016.

There were multiple reasons for the change. One reason being Ranbir himself. The actor who had no releases in 2014 has a flurry of releases this year already- Roy in February, Bombay Velvet in May and Jagga Jasoos in November. Ranbir does not want his releases to come back to back and wants a certain time gap between his films. Hence, he decided to postpone Tamasha for an early 2016 release instead.

Also, another reason why the makers might have decided to shift the release dates would be the huge clash of titans that would have happened anyway. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani is also releasing on that day tentatively and Deepika is the main lead there as well. So a shift in either of the film's release was evident. In all probabilities, even Bajirao Mastani's release will be pushed. Made on a lavish budget, SLB would not want his film to compete for screens and clash with a Khan film. The movie in point being Rohit Shetty's next starring Shah Rukh Khan which is also eyeing for a Christmas release.

Whenever big budgeted films starring Bollywood biggies have released together, it has only ended up eating into each other's businesses and the makers of all the three films will definitely not be willing to take up the risk, given the stakes involved. Hence postponing Tamasha might just be a really nice and practical idea.
