Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s superhero flick to go on floors early next year

Ever since it was announced that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are coming together for Ayan Mukerji’s next superhero venture, there has been a lot of curiosity around the film. However, due to Ranbir’s choc-a-bloc schedule with two big releases- Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos in 2015, Ayan’s film could never really take off. Finally, everything seems to have fallen in place and the much awaited venture will soon begin shooting from Feb 2016.

A source close to the project confirmed, “Once Bombay Velvet is out of the way, Ranbir will finish Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos and Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha in two schedules as both are expected to hit the theatres this year. When he recently met with his team to chart out his plan for 2016, Ayan’s film was the first to get a slot as RK is really excited about playing a caped crusader,”

As per reports, RK is personally involved in all aspects of the project, right from the script to creating a superhero character which is also speculated to have a lot of mythological elements. “It’s been planned as a trilogy and both Ayan and RK are involved in developing the character’s back story,” added the source.

The untitled venture is scheduled to release on December 23, 2016.
