Ram Gopal Varma latest movie Killing Veerappan was released first in Kannada, as it was about Veerappan and starred Shivarajkumar. The film also released in Telugu, but could not release in Tamil. The movie opened to mixed reviews. While some said it was a realistic portrayal, others felt there were too many liberties and that RGV hadn't come up with a convincing film. However, actor Sandeep Bharadwaj was hailed for his portrayal of Veerappan.
Meanwhile, it looks like the director is heading back to Bollywood. RGV was to make the sequel of his successful film Company and it looks like he may finally start the project. But the buzz is that it will have a new title - Government.
One of the director's favourite subjects is the underworld and this movie will be about Dawood and the underworld. It will also focus on Chota Rajan, who is in prison right now.
But before he starts work on his Hindi film, he will complete the movie on Muthappa Rai, the noted Kannada gangster. The movie is titled Rai and features Sudeep in the lead role.
