Ram Charan and Prabhudeva set the stage on fire at IIFA UTSAVAM

When the Michael Jackson of India took to the stage to kick off the evening of the Telugu and Kannada Awards at the IIFA UTSAVAM, the crowd roared and cheered. Prabhudeva dazzled the audience with his incredible moves. Joining him on stage were actress Shriya Saran and actor Bharath. The Bollywood director danced to a medley of Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil songs to showcase the IIFA UTSAVAM which honours the south film industries. 

The Who's Who of the Telugu film industry was present this evening. Mahesh Babu came in with his beautiful wife Namrata Shirodkar and Chiranjeevi was accompanied by his family. Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni were there as well as Allu Arvind and his wife. Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish, Navdeep, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati, Suresh Babu, Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, Jagapathy Babu and N Balakrishna were also sitting in the front row. 

This evening also saw Ram Charan's first Sathe performance and his moves on stage sent the audience into a tizzy. The screams and cheers filled the stadium and the actor's proud parents watched on. Akhil Akkineni, Nagarjuna and Amala's son, who recently made his debut also showed off his moves on stage. Baahubali actress Tamannaah and Kannada actor Shivrajkumar also gave some splendid dance performances. 

For the Telugu awards, Allu Sirish, Navdeep and Regina Cassandra were brilliant as hosts. For the Telugu awards, Srimanthudu took home the highest number of accolades with a total tally of six awards including Leading Role Male, Leading Role Female, Supporting Role Male, Music Direction, Lyrics, Playback Singer Male. Following closely was Baahubali -The Beginning with five awards. Mahesh Babu won the award for Leading Role Male and Shruti Hassan won for Leading Role Female for their amazing performance in the hit film Srimanthudu.

For the Kannada segment, Vijay Raghavendra was one of the hosts. The successful Kannada film Rangitaranga took home the highest number of accolades with a total tally of six awards including Best Picture, Direction, Supporting Role Male, Negative Role, Music Direction and Lyrics.

Rangitaranga actor Nirup Bhandari, commented “I would like to thank IIFA UTSAVAM to have instituted this fantastic opportunity for the whole of South Indian Film Fraternity to be under one roof. It felt great to watch legends and new talents from the industry honoured. Being in the presence of such powerhouse of talents was a huge high”
