Rajinikanth receives rousing welcome in Malaysia as he arrives for 'Kabali' shoot

The actor will be shooting for two weeks in the country.

Malaysians have been going all out to make Superstar Rajinikanth welcome in their country. This is the first time that Rajinikanth will be spending a while (two weeks) shooting in their country and everyone seems to be excited.

Malaysia has a large Tamil population and is a very big market for Tamil movies. Malaysian media has been reporting the Superstar's visit to the country. One of the media reports stated that Rajinikanth is the highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan.  

Social media has been buzzing with pics of Rajinikanth in Malaysia and welcome messages, right from the moment he arrived at the Kuala Lumpur airport. Many government officials have also met him. The star headed to Melaka (Malacca) where he will be shooting for Pa Ranjith's film Kabali. He was welcomed by the governor of Melaka, Mohd Khalil bin Yaakob. 

Some of the people who met him and welcomed him included local actor Magendran Raman and Datin Seri Shaila Nair, the son of former MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.

Kabali will be shot in Malacca and in Pulau Carey, Banting in Malaysia. The producer of the film Kalaipuli S Thanu has also accompanied Rajinikanth.
