The third season of American psychological thriller horror TV series Hannibal will go air on June 4.

Picking up after the shocking events of the finale, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) is now on the run in Europe, accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia (Gillian Anderson), leading to more psychological cat-and-mouse games with Will (Hugh Dancy), reported Entertainment Weekly.

The series is based on characters and elements appearing in the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

Directed by David Slade of Twilight fame, the series explores the relationship of psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter and gifted FBI criminal profiler Will Graham.

Opening with a murder investigation, Graham has a frightening gift of empathising with psychopaths. But when the mind of the twisted killer he’s pursuing is too complicated even for him to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr Lecter.

Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal form a partnership and it seems there’s no villain they can’t catch.
