Piers Morgan has taken aim at actor Shia LaBeouf for alleging he was raped during an art installation earlier this year.

The 49-year-old outspoken journalist took it to his Twitter account to say "silly little man" LaBeouf's claim to have been "raped" is truly pathetic & demeans real rape victims, the Mirror reported. Morgan then added that a Hollywood actor sitting with a paper bag over his head who did nothing as he claims a woman "raped" him has not been raped.

Morgan continued that the world's gone mad as people are actually defending Shia LaBeouf, who has invented a supposed "rape" for cheap PR, which is utterly shameful.

One of the Fans who showed a mixed reaction to the outburst wrote "And what if he actually has been raped..?" while another wrote "Why? If it's non-consenting then it doesn't matter how "major" the offence is, and because he's a man doesn't change anything.."

However, another added "Agreed! He chose to allow her to do what she wanted. NOT RAPE."

Morgan tweeted another message saying he doesn't appreciate LaBeouf using rape to put the spotlight on himself.
