The trailer of Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri is just out and at first glance, seems a little too similar to Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.

Phillauri has Suraj Sharma playing a manglik groom, who’s forced to marry a tree before he can marry the girl his parents have set him up with. However, in the bargain, he’s ‘wed’ to Anushka Sharma’s ghostly character. By and by, they come to know the ghost’s backstory and try to set things right.

On the other hand, Corpse Bride has Victor (Johnny Depp) due to marry Victoria (Emily Watson) and while practising his vows in a forest, puts the ring on a tree root, which turns out to be the finger of Emily (Helena Bonham Carter), who’s been buried there. She insists that they’re married. He learns that she had been murdered and makes efforts to set her soul free with the help of his fiancée.

However, the Tim Burton film bears his dark signature style while Anushka’s film (releasing March 24) is more lively and seems far more colourful and bright.
