Anushka Sharma has been one of the biggest risk takers when it comes to producing films. But after NH10, Anushka and brother Karnesh Sharma have come up with a completely different film, set in a very different space from her previous film. Phillauri

The theatrical promo of Phillauri which won a lot of appreciation from senior editors in the preview, has been finally unveiled. The 3 minute trailer has won everyone's heart and here are 5 things we loved about the trailer...

The setting!
Who would have expected the makers of a NH10 to take a completely different route and make a film like Phillauri? Well, trust Anushka to do the magic! While NH10 was intense, gritty and hard-hitting, Phillauri is the exact opposite - funny, quirky and light-hearted.

The elements of quirk!
This isn't another cliched Bollywood romantic comedy. Instead, Anushka and brother KArnesh have come up with a unique idea. Phillauri, right from the very beginning (in the trailer) is funny and thank god, it isn't forced. The subtle humour and quirk elements work in favour of it and keep us intrigued. Lines like 'Main toh paidaeshi bhoot hoon' to 'Shaadi se do din pehle kya bhoot sawar hua hai' are tongue-in-cheek and are applause worthy!

Anushka Sharma!
Phillauri is about the love story of a spirit... Anushka who plays Shashi, the ghost bowls you over from the word go. There's no denying that Anushka's a terrific performer but in the trailer itself, her emotions and mood ranges from the funny and the sarcastic to the emotional. She shows varying wavelengths of feel and emotions throughout, which draws your attention. She shoulders the trailer, almost completely and how!

Diljit Dosanjh!
He wowed the audiences in Udta Punjab. Cut to Phillauri, Diljit plays a role closer to heart and home - that of a Punjabi singer. Although the makers don't reveal much about his character, Diljit's strong screen presence is enough. His love story with Anushka too is woven nicely in the plot.

The connect between the vintage and the contemporary:
The director has crafted two worlds. One being the era where Anushka and Diljit fall in love and suffer a tragic ending (that's what we believe must have happened) and the other one being the modern day where Suraj Sharma is getting married. A comedy of errors, the two time zones are interwoven nicely and there's not much of a jargon there. Plus, the soulful Sahiba track soothes the soul.
