It's not a great time for the South Indian film industry. After Dasari Narayana Rao passed away last evening, on Wednesday morning, celebrated Kannnada producer Parvathamma Rajkumar also breathed her last. She was 77.
Parvathamma was the wife of late Kannada actor Rajkumar and used to produce films in her own right. She passed away at Bengaluru's MS Ramaiah Memorial Hospital after suffering multiple organ failure. She was suffering from breast cancer and couldn't win her battle against the deadly disease.
Her three sons Raghavendra Rajkumar, Shivarjkumar and Punit Rajkumar were by her side when she died. Parvathamma had a cardiac arrest at 4.30 am. Despite all active measures, she failed to respond and she was declared dead at 4.40 am,” said Dr Naresh Shetty, president of M S Ramaiah Memorial Hospital. The hospital statement also added that it was a “known case of breast cancer that had spread to liver and lungs. Her kidney functions had also compromised.”
Her body has already been taken to son Raghavendra's house and will also be kept at Poornaprajna school grounds in Sadashivnagar where the public can come to pay their last respect. She will be buried on Wednesday evening, next to her husband at the Rajkumar memorial in Kantiveera Studio. We wish her soul rests in peace.
