Parineeti Chopra's 'Daawat-e-Ishq' edges past Sonam Kapoor's 'Khoobsurat' at the box office

Parineeti Chopra's Daawat-e-Ishq seemed to have performed much better than Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat at the box office. After the first Monday collections at the box office, the Parineeti Chopra starrer edged past Sonam Kapoor's Disney flick.

Both the films which opened to a poor box office occupancy had a poor weekend collection around the Rs 10 crore bracket. Parineeti Chopra-Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Daawat-e-Ishq collected around Rs 2 crore on its first Monday taking its total to Rs 15.50 crore while Sonam Kapoor-Fawad Khan's Khoobsurat raked in only Rs 1.50 crore taking its total to a disappointing Rs 11.75 crore.

But given the feel good vibe about the Disney film, it is expected to pick up better than Dawaat-e-Ishq and if it can perform consistently well throughout the first week, after the second week, it still has chances of toppling the Yash Raj movie.

But as of now, Parineeti Chopra has raced ahead of Sonam Kapoor at the ticket counters.
