Pamela Anderson has said that a Baywatch movie, as rumoured to be in conception, would be "pointless" without her.

The 42-year-old actress starred alongside David Hasselhoff as lifeguard CJ Parker in the long-running TV series.

But she believes any kind of film adaptation of the hit TV series would be ill-conceived, and she would prefer it if filmmakers did not tamper with Baywatch.

"I'd like to kind of leave it as it was – I'm not a big fan of when they recreate television series for movies," the Mirror quoted her as saying.

"But a good friend of mine is always saying to me 'Just remember how important you are to that movie. They can't make that movie without you,'" she added.
