#Oscars: well, we gave the award to 12 Years a Slave last year. Enough diversity! Now back to white male reality!

This is what Jimmy Fallon, popular talk show host and comedian tweeted.
This year's Oscar nominees are so white, they just became the frontrunner for the 2016 Republican nomination. #fallonmono #OscarsSoWhite

According to the statistics by Alice Vincent and Ben Webett of the Telegraph, the voting members of the Academy, who select the nominated artists, are 94% white, 77% male and have a median age of 62. This has been lately termed as a reason by the movie fans for why the nominations accounts too few women as compared to men, few of black ethnicity as compared to the whites and most nominees being the middle aged. The nominations for four main categories- Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best supporting Actress features no non-white actors, which seems an suprise! Ava DuVernay, director of the film Selma and her cast member David Oyelowo were both acclaimed for their work in the movie but their efforts seem to be unrecognised. The fact that the film was nominated for Best Picture, but director Ava DuVernay and lead actor David Oyelowoo were snubbed, came as a surprise to critics and fans alike.
A nomination for DuVernay would have made history, making her the very first African-American woman nominated for Best Director. In addition, the fifth woman to be nominated in this category.
The other biggest snub by Oscar 2015 is no nomination of The Lego Movie for the Best Animated Feature Movie. The Lego Movie which was the highest-grossing film of 2014 at the UK box office got snubbed by the Oscars.
were the legos not white enough for the oscars

Well, the snub came as a surprise, but it's director Philip Lord's response was perfect.
It's okay. Made my own! pic.twitter.com/kgyu1GRHGR
