OMG! Rakhi Sawant arrested for her controversial remark on Vamiki

Rakhi Sawant has been arrested. The controversial reality TV star who is always in news for her bold and boisterous statements left the Valmiki community angry when she made a shocking remark against the writer who penned the epic Ramayana. 

She called Valmiki a 'murderer and robber' which hurt the community. The court issued the arrest warrant after Sawant failed to appear before it on March 9 in a case filed against her for making derogatory remarks against sage Valmiki, the author of the Ramayana which chronicles the life and times of Hindu god Lord Rama.

Reportedly, a warrant was issued against her on the basis of a complaint filed against her for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of the Valmiki community with her comments. The complainants accused Sawant of hurting religious sentiments of the Valmiki community with her remarks on a TV show.

Despite rendering a video apology for her statement, a two member police team from Ludhiana came to Mumbai to arrest the actress. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for April 10.
