Ajay Devgn recently came out in support of the ban on Pakistani artistes in India and stated that he won't work with any of them at the moment. He said, "Country comes before money if the country breaks into mess what will we do with the money.” He had further added that, "There cannot be an exchange of culture when there is an exchange of bullets going on."

While he made his stand quite clear saying that it's not a political issue that one should take sides on the matter, not many are aware of the fact that Ajay himself was about to cast a Pakistan born actor in his upcoming directorial Shivaay. Though, the situation between India and Pakistan has worsened post the Uri attack, Ajay had almost cast Ali Kazmi in the film much earlier.

As per reports, Karachi born Canadian actor Ali Kazmi was supposed to shoot certain portions for Shivaay in Canada but was unable to do so due to a conflict in the shooting schedule. Reportedly, Kazmi had revealed the reason why the makers had to let go of him from the project, in an interview with Images. Kazmi was quoted saying, "It’s mainly due to them not filming in Canada and their schedule getting majorly delayed. I was occupied with shooting Dobara Phir Se so I couldn’t go where they were, so the location and dates didn’t work out for me.”

We wonder if Ajay Devgn's stance would have been the same had Ali Kazmi been a part of his film.
