Om Puri's ashes immersed in Versova

Om Puri’s ashes were immersed in the sea in Versova yesterday by his teenage son, Ishaan, who was accompanied by his mother, Nandita and actor Manoj Pahwa, a close friend of the Puris.

The actor passed away on January 6, at the age of 66, following a massive heart attack at his home. Puri lived in Versova for over three decades and loved going for morning walks at the beach. So, the family decided to complete the final rituals in the same area.

His last rites were performed at the Oshiwara crematorium. A source close to the family said, “Ishaan’s mundan (tonsure ceremony) was heartbreaking for Nandita. She hasn’t been able to get out of the shock of Om’s death. He was her umbrella and she feels Om Puri orphaned without him.”
