'RING' IN THE NEW….
Two of Delhi's most eligible bachelors have finally given up their single status. Hoteliers Karan Paul (The Park) and Gobind Akoi (The Imperial), have both slipped on engagements rings last week. Co-incidentally, both the beautiful ladies are from the same profession. While Karan, who was dating model Indrani Dasgupta exchanged rings over the weekend, Gobind got engaged to Fleur Xavier at Lake Como in Italy recently. Fleur had given up modelling and started interior design after moving to Delhi a few years back. Her on-and-off relationship with him had been a gossip staple in the capital. But finally, commitment phobic Akoi relented and planned a stylish engagement ceremony where he announced a 2014 end wedding date. Both girls have been ecstatic wearing gleaming 'rocks' on their fingers. After being through their share of toads, these pretty damsels finally found their Prince Charming…

BAREFOOT IN CANNES!

While the media has been showcasing what our actresses wore at Cannes, I came across an image which had me smiling….of barefoot Milind Soman in Cannes. I've always known Milind's love for running without shoes on Mumbai's roads but strolling around the cold streets of Cannes sans footwear was crazy. Sipping hot chocolate, standing barefoot outside the iconic 'La Maison Du Chocolat' store, he seemed absolutely comfortable smiling for pictures. When I asked him about it, he replied matter-of- factly, "Not just barefoot in Cannes, also in France." Comfort dressing has always been Milind's style quotient but wasn't this carrying it a bit too far? "It's called 'A barefoot life', except that the biggest danger to a barefoot person is other people wearing shoes" he smiled. Quite quirky, this seems to be Milind's way of re-defining 'Grin & 'Bare' it'?

ADI CHOPRA'S 'NEW' BABY

Yash Chopra's films revolutionized the way women dressed on film. From Rekha in Silsila, Sridevi in Chandni, Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai to Katrina Kaif in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, all Yashraj heroines had one thing in common-they were all beautifully styled on screen. Last year YRF tied up with Delhi-based Karol Bagh Saree House to launch its own Bollywood-inspired fashion label Diva'ni and later opened their first store in Delhi. A marriage between cinema and fashion, their first collection was a tribute to Yash Chopra's stylish heroines and had most of Yashraj's leading ladies walk the ramp at its launch fashion show. And now, Diva'ni opens its first two-storey store in Mumbai this week. Adi, known for his astute business acumen realised the potential of this venture and has been completely involved in realising this dream. From the store interiors to merchandise, he's the brain behind Diva'ni. Unlike other fashion stores, there won't be established designers retailing, rather an in-house fashion team will be creating the Bollywood inspired collections. And with film buffs and NRI's as their main target client, this YRF production should be another smart winner….

THE BUZZ…

Sobo gets a new watering hole. 'The Bombay Bronx', a chilled out bar opens next week in Breach Candy. With the aim to capture the old world charm of Bombay's chaos, this non-pretentious hangout comes from the same team that successfully runs 'WTF' & 'Big Nasty' in the suburbs. The bar's interiors have been designed keeping in mind the city's cult design elements and with an easy Mumbai street styled F&B menu along with commercial mainstream music, it's just what that side of town needed.
Gentlemen rejoice. Finally, Mumbai's dapper dudes have a place to groom in style. London's famed barber shop 'Truefitt & Hill' opened last week with two outlets on either side of the Sea link. What makes this place unique is that that don't only cut hair and groom, but also retail interesting men's products including exclusive Cuban Cigars (Habanos, Cohibas, Davidoff, Galliano), Barker Shoes, Deakin & Francis cufflinks as well as fashion accessories for the discerning man. And with private VIP suites for those looking for time alone, it's an experience to pamper the senses.· After years of hosting the Lakme Fashion Week at the Grand Hyatt, IMG is all set to move this fashionable event to a new venue. In all probability, LFW will now be held at The Palladium Hotel. Very recently, IMG officials had been checking out the property to figure if it could accommodate such a huge event. Apparently, cost cutting seems to be the main reason for this 'fashionable' shift.

Rajeev Samant, founder of Sula Vineyards is ecstatic. British retailer Marks & Spencer has collaborated with his winery for a new offering- Jewel of Nasik, which will be available in 250 stores across Britain in three variants- Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel Rose and Tempranillo Shiraz. It's the first time ever that an Indian wine will feature in their selection of world wines and for the Indian wine industry, this news is worth a tipple.
