Sonakshi Sinha is all geared up for her upcoming flick Akira in which she will be seen in a completely different avatar from what we've been used to seeing her in. The actress has been a part of a number of action movies before with stars like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, but this is the first time that she will be doing action on screen all by herself.

When asked if observing the action heroes in her previous films helped her for her role in Akira, Sonakshi explains, "Honestly, observing them in all the films I’ve done with them has really helped me. I used to watch them doing the action scenes and I used to be like, ‘O yaar, mujhe kab mauka milega karne ka’ so that happened in  Akira and honestly these people have been doing it for so many years and they do such good action that it’s a treat to watch them and I feel like I’ve applied whatever I’ve seen, whatever I’ve learnt in this film."

Surely we will see her in an action packed avatar in the film but did she also go through her share of injuries like the other heroes? She quips, "I did as well. It’s very strenuous, what you see on screen is not even 5 percent of what goes on, the effort that goes in putting that out. That's like a 3 minute - 4 minute action sequence that you see on screen but it takes days to shoot. And a lot of blood, sweat and tears go into it. I had to train for it, I did injure myself a couple of times while shooting, while training, but it’s about how you bounce back. I didn’t let it come in the way of my shooting schedule or anything of that sort."

Ask her about how she felt working without a hero and she laughs it off saying, "Achha lag raha hai. Koi tension nahi (I feel good, There's no tension)." But did she miss romancing on screen? She adds, "I feel I’ve done that so much in all my other films that I really enjoy doing something that’s different. So, I think everything has its time and place. So in this film it wasn’t required, I didn’t do the romance and the dancing but I did the action. So it was well compensated for."

Akira which also stars Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sensharma is all set to hit the theatres on September 2.
