While the controversy around the release of 'Udta Punjab' has not died down yet, a Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer also is currently facing the wrath of central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Haraamkhor, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Shweta Tripathi in the lead roles, revolves around the illicit relationship between a 14-year-old girl and her tuition teacher. Shweta was last seen in Masaan.
The CBFC is reportedly against the entire idea of the film. The Examining Committee of CBFC is reportedly unhappy with the plot of the film which shows teachers in a bad light.
Speaking to The Huffington Post, one of the producers of the film, Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment said, "They said they can't give us a certificate because the entire theme of the movie is objectionable."
The filmmakers have reportedly been asked by the Election Committee that they can either take the film to the Revising Committee or the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).
The film was showcased at 17th Jio MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai in October 2015 and won the Silver Gateway Award, which is the runners-up award.
