Not just Kat, the SRK-Aanand L Rai film will feature another actress. Here’s our shortlist...
Aanand L Rai and Shah Rukh Khan have announced that they are coming together for a film. One where SRK will be playing a midget on screen. After Hrs was the first to tell you that Katrina Kaif has been approached to play the lead opposite the Badshah in the film. Now, we can confirm that Katrina has given a nod to the film. But there are two heroines in the film.
Although he doesn’t confirm Katrina’s presence in the film, director Aanand L Rai confirms, “The film will have two heroines”. A source adds, “Both the heroines will have almost equal roles. It isn’t a film where one actress will have a bigger role and the other won’t. That’s why Aanand wants two established actors opposite Shah Rukh.”
There were reports that Aanand has approached Kareena Kapoor Khan to play the part of the other leading lady in the film. But Bebo says, “This is false news. I have not been approached for the film at all.” With Bebo’s denial, the role for another actress opposite SRK is up for grabs. Here are the possibilities...
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam and Rai have worked together in Raanjhanaa which brought out her acting prowess to the fore. We won’t be surprised if Aanand approaches her again for this role. Plus, she and Kat both endorse the same beauty brand and are friends. That always makes life easier for everyone on the set. Also, if this happens, it will bring in another fresh pairing of SRK and Sonam — something we have never seen before on screen.
Anushka Sharma
Katrina and Anushka have worked before in Jab Tak Hain Jaan. With SRK! Aanand has always spoken highly of the NH10 heroine. So will he knock on her door with the film? If she says yes, it will be two SRK-Anushka films coming back-to-back. (Read: Imtiaz Ali’s next too stars the RNBDJ jodi)
Parineeti Chopra
Aanand’s film, like all his other projects will be very Indian at heart with a rural backdrop. Also, Pari has kept her date diary free because she is looking to work with talented makers. Rai can do for her career what he has done for Kangana Ranaut’s career. Also, this will mean that like her cousin Priyanka Chopra, she will get to romance SRK on screen.
Deepika Padukone
There are constant conjectures about DP being approached for the same. But given that Katrina is already doing the film, we are quite sure Deepika won’t give her nod. Along with that, DP’s international commitments followed by her next film with Salman Khan (Kabir’s next venture) might leave her with no dates at all.
