‘Amitabh Bachchan probably won’t be remembered for his choices’

Naseer in a television interview, said, “Dilip will be remembered for his contribution to cinema, Amitabh Bachchan won’t. Dilip Kumar was a great actor, but not because of his choice of movies. Amitabh probably won’t be remembered for his choices. Your talent lies in your choices. I don’t consider Sholay to be a great movie. It may have been a mazedaar film, yes, but not great.” In another interview to a daily he had said, “A star is a person who has spent 40-50 years perfecting the art of being synthetic. Amitabh has perfected that art, and he’s expected to be all real in his films now. He can’t be real in his real life.”

‘Farhan should have lost more weight and been lean like Milkha’

At a media event  in Dubai, he spoke about Farhan’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. “Just because a film has good photography does not make it good one. Take Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. It was totally a false film, ultimately fake in every way and resorts to Pakistani bashing in the end. It should have been a psychological study of the man. Instead, it was turned into a potboiler. Farhan worked very hard and managed a passing resemblance in some stills, but he looked more like Brad Pitt as street fighter more than Milkha Singh. He should have lost more weight and been lean like him.”

‘Salman betrays his politics’

Commenting on Salman Khan performing at a stage show along with  Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt at Saifai, in Uttar Pradesh, Naseer said, “I don’t think our big stars have any particularly strong political beliefs. The fact that Salman Khan can say I was paid to go and dance at Saifai, I am only an actor, it shows his politics. It betrays his politics. How can you possibly do a thing like that? Are you so blind to what’s happening in UP itself? And I don’t believe any one has donated that money to charity. I don’t think it even occurred to anyone of them. I mean come on, `10 million is small change for Salman Khan.”

‘Mithun keeps talking of his own Naxal past’

Naseer and Mithun have worked together in Hum Paanch and Shikari but when he was offered a role turned down by Mithunda, the senior actor said sarcastically, “I have no idea which part he (Mithun) refused and I don’t know his point of view... He keeps talking of his own Naxal past and I don’t know how many grains of salt to take that with...”

Took a dig at Anupam on fighting for Kashmiri Pandits

At an event in in Delhi to promote his recent release Waiting, made a crack at Anupam Kher speaking on the displacement of Kashmiri Pandits. “A person who has never lived in Kashmir has started a fight for Kashmiri Pandits. Suddenly, he became a displaced person.”
