He's currently shooting for Baadshaho, directed by Milan Luthria and Ajay Devgn is set to resume work on Rohit Shetty's Golmaal Again soon. Recently, it was reported that the actor is also set to produce a TV show on yoga guru Ramdev.

Now, Mumbai Mirror spills the beans that the actor has collaborated with filmmaker Abhinav Shuklaa for a film on Jaswant Singh Gill, the chief engineer who in 1989, saved the lives of 64 miners at the Mahabir Colliery of Raniganj in West Bengal. Devgn, will be featuring in the film, has roped in Tinu Suresh Desai of Rustom fame to helm the project.

A source close to the development told the tabloid, "The makers have acquired the official rights to the life story of JS Gill for the yet-untitled film. Work on the script has already begun and Ajay will go through extensive prep before he starts shooting next year."

Back in November 1989, around 220 miners were breaking coal walls by triggering blasts, when the wall of an underground water table adjacent to where they were working cracked and the water gushed in. Six miners lost their lives and while the ones closest to the lift were pulled out, 64 miners remained trapped inside. A 2.5 metre tall steel capsule was created and attached to a crane which was lowered into the pit. Gill, who was trained in rescue procedures, volunteered to bring the miners back up and stayed down till the last miner was pulled out to safety. After the six-hour, he was greeted with applause for his valiant efforts.
