Jazz singer Norah Jones, the multiple Grammy winning daughter of sitar legend Ravi Shankar, is all excited about performing at the upcoming Oscars ahead of her first India tour in March.

The 33-year-old is set to perform the song Everybody Needs A Best Friend from the soundtrack of Ted at the Academy awards ceremony on Sunday.

The track was co-written by Norah and Seth MacFarlane, the director of Ted, and has been nominated in the Best Original Song category.

Norah also featured in the film Ted, and in the past has acted in movies like My Blueberry Nights.

Incidentally Seth is hosting the 85th Academy Awards this year in Los Angeles.

"I'm excited. I think it'll be really fun. It's a really cool, unique experience for me to get to perform the song at the Oscars because Seth is hosting and he's my friend. To get to be a part of his film is super fun, but for him to be hosting and for me to still get to go and perform with my buddy hosting, that's super fun! I'm excited," Norah said in a statement.

The nine-time Grammy winner will begin her the three-city tour in India with a headlining performance at the new music festival A Summer's Day in Mumbai on March 3, followed by concerts in New Delhi on March 5 and 6 at Siri Fort Auditorium and Bangalore on March 8.

"I'm very excited to be playing in Delhi, and I'm excited to be adding a second show. I hope that we'll have a lot of fun at the shows, and that everyone else is as excited as I am!," said Norah.
