Bollywood feels incomplete without the staple song-and-dance routines but since the starting of 2015, many films have somehow managed to defy this age-old formula and still be successful. Like Akshay Kumar’s Baby and Anushka Sharma’s NH10. And now, YRF’s next, Fan starring Shah Rukh Khan will follow the no naach-gaana route too.

A source from the production reveals, “There are no songs in the film. It’s a very content driven emotional tale and it does not need the typical Bollywood naach-gaana. Maneesh was very clear about that from day one. There will be two songs made purely for promotional purposes but they won’t be there in the screenplay.” The makers feel that the trademark song and dance routine will dilute the content of the film and hence have decided to avoid it.

Fan has been in the loop for quite some time now. After the actor completed the shoot for the film, despite his injury, he is now finishing off the 10-day patchwork for the Maneesh Sharma film. Our source tells us, “Shah Rukh was busy wrapping up Raees’ first schedule and then moved on to finish his first schedule with the Dilwale team in Bulgaria. He was back last week and despite his injured knee, he went ahead to complete the patchwork for Fan.”

Expected to release in the first half of 2016, we hear the makers are eyeing for a release around Good Friday next year. “It might release on March 25- Good Friday itself or the week after, that is on April 1. But nothing has been finalised. Adi, SRK and Maneesh are still deciding what will give their film the best window and will make an official announcement soon.”
